I'll overwhelm 'credible fighter' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight-round fight which will be shown in real-time on the streaming platform.

Briton Anthony Joshua said he will "dominate completely" the American and "break" the American as the two fighters confronted each other to build hype for next month's heavyweight fight.

Former two-time unified title holder Anthony Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a huge uneven pairing - at Miami's arena on December 19th.

Fighter's Mindset

"I'm going to damage his features and damage his physique. I'm here to prove my superiority," Joshua, 35 years old, stated.

"I will dominate him completely. That's how fighters think.

"I will seriously aim to injure him. That's my intention."

Respectful Exchange

Despite those words, a composed Joshua and internet personality Paul - typically known for his dramatics - were respectful and kept it respectful with each other.

Paul instead targeted former Joshua's opponent Francis Ngannou and described him as "ridiculous" after Ngannou rejected a match opportunity.

Taking Aim at Fury

Joshua, meanwhile, took aim at British rival Tyson Fury - and rejected a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' states he will put on a Paul win.

"Jake Paul is superior to Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua said.

"I respect him for that."

Legitimate Opponent

In spite of declaring he will punish Paul, Joshua chose not to talk badly about his opponent's pugilistic talent.

"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he remarked.

Jake Paul's History

Paul - who initially became famous on the Disney Channel - has mostly fought MMA fighters or faded names since entering professional boxing.

He lost to Briton Fury in 2023.

Commercial Attraction

Still, the relative newcomer is still one of boxing's largest money-making draws, frequently receiving substantial paydays.

Prediction and Belief

The 28 year old forecast a KO victory in the fourth or fifth round and claimed he would prevent the highly-expected Fury-Joshua bout, which is apparently under discussion for 2026.

"It will be my match with Fury next year," Jake Paul declared.

Size Disparity

As both boxers engaged in the traditional face-off, with their physical disparity clearly visible, it drove home just how surprising this whole event is - and how amazing it is that the fight is actually happening.
